Do you have a cat with GI issues? Royal Canin Gastrointestinal is the diet you need, specially formulated for feline friends with acute and/or chronic gastrointestinal conditions. In the past, a common treatment for these conditions was fasting for 24-48 hours. But did you know that not eating can actually harm your cat’s intestinal villi? Research shows that proper nutritional support can greatly aid short-term recovery and long-term disease management. Our diet is recommended for cats with various conditions such as acute/chronic diarrhea, gastritis, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, maldigestion/malabsorption, dysrexia, and for those requiring post-surgery re-feeding. However, we do not recommend this diet for cats with Lymphangiectasia or exudative enteropathy. Our complete and balanced diet can be fed long-term with the supervision of a veterinarian, who should perform a full health check every 6 months.

Ingredients:

ROYAL CANIN® Gastrointestinal is a precisely formulated diet for cats with acute and/or chronic gastrointestinal conditions.

Composition: Poultry by-products, chicken meat, maize flour, pork blood products, corn starch mixture, sunflower oil refined, fish oil, minerals, powder cellulose, yeasts and part thereof, caramelized sugars, marigold extract (source of lutein).

Additives (per kg): Nutritional additives: Vitamin D3: 330 IU, Iron: 7 mg, Iodine: 0,4 mg, Copper: 3,3 mg, Manganese: 2,2 mg, Zinc: 22 mg – Technological additives: clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin: 2 g.

Analytical constituents: Protein: 8.0% – Fat content: 5.6% – Crude ash: 1.8% – Crude fibers: 0.24% – Moisture: 80.0% – Sodium: 0.12% – Potassium: 0.18% – Fatty acids: w3: 0.21% – w6: 1.4% – Metabolizable Energy: 95.5 kcal/ 100g.

Feeding instructions: see table. Batch number, factory registration number and best before date: see information on packaging. To be stored in a cool, dry place. In case of acute disease, regeneration of the intestinal villi requires the nutritional management to last for at least three weeks. Lifetime feeding may be necessary/beneficial in case of chronic disease. To optimize digestion, the recommended daily intake should be divided into several small meals.
